Eleven Dubcast: Ohio State's March Madness Odds Take a Nosedive After a Devastating Losing Streak

It's hard, as fans, to not be prisoners of the moment. And I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that, either; its certainly a hell of a lot more enjoyable to project every small success forward into Pax Buckeyia. Or at least an invite to March Madness, but dammit, George and I aren't here to have fun, we're here to occasionally be right!

So are we happy that Jake Diebler's squad has seemingly played themselves out of the NCAA tournament? Of course not! Will we fail to point we said weeks ago that Ohio State wasn't a lock for the postseason, and then everything we said might happen did in fact happen? Also no!

It's not gloating because... well, it sucks, especially with Michigan and Dusty May at the top of the Big Ten standings (after being the worst team in the conference a year ago). The frustrating thing is that we really do think that Jake Diebler is a quality coach and a good dude who has absolutely done better this season than Chris Holtmann would've.

But it is possible that he wasn't the best choice in the moment, and now Ohio State men's basketball is about to be staring down a long, long offseason.

  • Three losses in a row is rough, especially the most recent one to a wee douchebag from the west side of Cincinnati
  • Any hopes that Michigan might have their legs cut out from under them with May heading to Indiana seem to have been dashed
  • Diebler definitely has Ohio State in a better spot than they were in last season, but personnel issues persist
  • Ask Us Anything, which you can do by sending us questions to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com, wants to know about my super badass scar that is essentially undetectable and went unnoticed by George until literally Sunday
  • Changes to the CFP are coming and... they're probably going to be stupid
  • Congratulations to women's swimming and diving, and RIP Donovan Munger

And that does it for the Dubcast this week! Watch the show now on YouTube above, listen via the mini player below or visit our Transistor page for links to other listening options such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
