It burns right now. Let it. But this has to be a discussion because, well, it worked last year and it almost led to an unexpected national championship.

Ohio State falls on Tuesday. They might not fall behind Alabama or Texas. They do have the better loss between the 3 teams. They will fall behind either of those teams if they win their conference title. That’s a fact but placement is still important.

So here are the dominos that have to fall:

(1) Florida State has to drop a game, either tonight or next week to Louisville. Without Jordan Travis, it’s possible. Possible.

(2) Georgia has to beat Alabama in the SEC title game. If Alabama wins, there’s a good chance we’re behind Georgia and Alabama. And probably should be.

(3) Texas loses the Big 12 title game. This is the most unlikely of the events that need to take place. 

That puts the teams at (1) Georgia, (2) Michigan, (3) Oregon/Washington winner, and (4) Ohio State. 

Not likely. Not impossible.
