Howard played pretty well today, I was impressed. He threw with accuracy and made good decisions, but what really stood out to me was his mobility. On several occasions, Akron defenders had him in clear sights in the pocket, and Howard was able to make them miss, and immediately get his eyes down field again. He’s going to be difficult to sack this year- both creating big plays but more importantly, keeping the offense on schedule by avoiding negative plays. Howard also showcased his running ability a few times, and it’s clear that he’s a major threat with the ball in his hands.
It was just one game against an overmatched opponent, but Howard was impressive and it’s hard not to imagine just how good this offense could be.
