Happy Monday, folks!
Well, somehow, we're already at Ohio State's first bye week of the season. Annoying, I know.
The Buckeyes absolutely dominated a pair of overmatched MAC opponents across the first two weeks, outscoring Akron and Western Michigan by a combined 108-6. But, Ohio State will have to wait until Sept. 21 to return to action against Marshall.
A massive piece of that success has been the standout play of true freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who has already hauled in 11 receptions for 211 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Smith's yardage mark ranks second in the Big Ten, while he's tied for first in receiving touchdowns.
After just two games, Smith is nipping on the heels of the Ohio State true freshman receiving touchdown record — long held by Cris Carter, who snagged eight touchdown receptions in 1984.
After 40 years of holding the record, I pray he smashes all my records: just I lil reminder, my Buckeyes ran the football 45-50 times a game . https://t.co/ywrQntcXO9
