Well, another week in the B1G, another slate of games.
I checked ESPN's scoreboard to see the entry price (As Low As) for each game. And, as we all know, these values do not reflect the extra taxes or fees of which we're accustom.
13 games (12 home games), only 1 conference game. Still very much in non-conference season. The median is $42 -- with a couple big tickets and a couple bargains.
Home | Away | "As Low As" | notes |
---|---|---|---|
Wisconsin | Alabama | $142 | not a chance, not a chance |
Purdue | Notre Damn | $126 | ND still wins, c'mon |
Ore. St. | Oregon | $90 | Oregon abandoned them, OrSU is enraged |
Nebraska | Northern Iowa | $84 | wow, it's like they're excited or something |
Washington | Wash. St. | $60 | this price shocked me, should be more |
Michigan St. | Prairie View A&M | $45 | also shocked |
Iowa | Troy | $42 | |
Northwestern | Eastern Illinois | $38 | *at their tiny stadium with no seats |
UCLA | Indiana | $37 | B1G at the Rose, not the Rose Bowl |
TCUN | Ark St. | $35 | |
Virginia | Maryland | $18 | ehh |
Minnesota | Nevada | $10 | ehh |
Illinois | Central Mich. | $5 | #Bert |
- 2 Games > $100
- Bama and Notre Dame are always huge draws
- 3 Games $50 to $100
- Oregon vs. Oregon St -- formerly known as the civil war -- perhaps the last gasp of this previous annual rivalry. Times are a changin'
- Nebraska fans are elated -- they are actually winning. A stark contrast from the opposite of that.
- Washington vs Wash St. -- In-state rivalry... last of the Apple Cup? No excitement?
- 5 Games $30 to $50
- 4 games are duds - but it's fall and B1G fans want football
- UCLA hosts their first conference game -- I guess nobody in LA cares (it's Indiana)
- 2 Games between $10 and $18
- ehh
- Illinois -- $5
- fresh off their first sellout since 2016 where they beat a ranked Kansas.
- I guess, they need time to decompress. Cut them some slack, winning is new to them.
