Came across article in my news feed. It’s basically a piece about the fans donating money to the 1870 Society which was then funneled to Smith and Houston amidst a recruiting day meltdown, and that this saved the class. 

In no way is this provable, nor is it actually journalism. The entire piece is some blogger writing ‘I think…’ without anything other than anecdotal commentary. It also flies in the face of what the recruits themselves have said publicly.

Do people read this stuff and believe it? I feel like the motivations for this type of piece comes from the NIL collectives themselves.
