Looks like Oliver Luck has agreed to head up the new XFL.
I haven't been able to find if Vince McMahon had an actual football guy in even a consulting capacity during his first attempt. I'm pretty sure it was just an entertainment collaboration between WWE and NBC. Does Luck's hiring mean the end product will be any different? Remains to be seen. It can't be worse than what we got last time, which was truly bad football, mid-season rule changes, and the lack of realization on the part of the McMahon brain trust that what works for WWE fans does not work for football fans.
Here's hoping that with Luck's help, the new XFL will be less of a debacle, or at least somewhat watchable.
