Who’s been paying attention to the local hockey club?
The Jackets are 15-2-4 in their last 21 games, good for the best record in the NHL over that span. That is a total of 60 points on the season, and that is with being towards the bottom of the league for a majority of the season.
The amazing thing, is that this streak has come from a long list of injuries. About 1/3 of the roster are call ups from Cleveland. Guys like Gerbe and Stenlund played great minutes. Atkinson and Bjorkstrand just came back with a vengeance, seeing how well the minor league guys played.
The star of this streak is the goalie, Elvis Merzlikins. He has been standing on his head after Korpisalo went down, who was also playing well. Elvis has 3 shutouts in his last 4 games!
The Jackets are ahead in the standings of all the guys that left. Bobrovsky has not played for the Florida Panthers, Panarin is 10 points behind with the Rangers, and Duchene only has 51 points with the Predators.
Jump on the bandwagon! It’s not too late!
