What a week that was. 1-0 for the first time in almost 20 years off the leg of a rookie kicker who, lets be honest, GOT THAT DAWG IN HIM. The season is off to possibly the most Brownsian start in franchise history when factoring in the off season and how game 1 went. 16 more to go.... buckle up.
Now to the Jets. Once Elite AFC North QB Joe Flacco comes back to a stadium where he's done so well, 17-3 all time in Cleveland Browns Stadium. He'll have young offensive weapons, the question is will he be able to get the ball to them. The Jets offensive line is decimated and not good to begin with. They boast a stoutish defense that hung in pretty well with the Ravens until late.
Browns look to repeat the same game plan as last week and Chunt their way to victory again. Brissett appeared to start to settle in in the second half after a woeful start to his Browns career. Nerves should be quelled and hopefully the Browns passing attack can gain some momentum. Remember, he doesn't need to a borderline Pro Bowler for the Browns to win in Watson's absence. He just needs to do enough to win, whatever that may look like. Keep the ship afloat until week 12 Captain Jacoby. Look for the Browns d-line to feast on the Jets o-line. Statue QB + Garrett/Clowney = something resembling last year's Bears game.
Predictions:
-- Chunt has 235 combined all purpose yards and 3 tds
-- Garrett has 2.5 sacks
-- Clowney has 3 sacks
-- Brissett under 200 yards passing (won't need it)
-- Flacco throws 2 picks
-- Garrett Wilson has over 100 yards and a TD
-- Browns win 24-10!!!
