After sweeping the Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and the Los Angeles Lakers on the road, the Cavaliers are a lofty 29-4 and in 1st place in the Eastern Conference by 5 games over the Boston Celtics. There's a lot to like in these Cavs; they're talented, deep, and have the superstar Donovan Mitchell for the clutch moments. There now seems to be harmony between Mitchell and Darius Garland, who is showing his All-Star form of 2 years ago. Evan Mobley is now one of the up and coming stars of the Association, while frontline teammate Jarrett Allen has upgraded his offensive game to go along with his stellar defense. Ty Jerome, Sam Merrill, Dean Wade, and Isaac Okoro are all making good things happen with their PT, and having Max Strus back gives Cleveland another 3 point threat. New coach Kenny Atkinson has his fingerprints all over this team.
The Cavs look to be a team capable of winning the NBA championship. There are some naysayers of course, and Cleveland will have to prove their mettle in the playoffs, but winning 29 of their first 33 games is not a fluke by any means. They've beaten all the prime contenders head to head.
