Yesterday, the Ohio State women's golf team tied its best finish in program history after stroke play, finishing fourth. The finish also punched its ticket to match play, where they would take on USC in the NCAA quarterfinals.

Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, that's where their run ended as they were unable to outmatch the Trojans, falling 3-1-1 in the quarterfinals.

Ohio State's Jessica Porvasnik was able to notch a victory over USC's Muni He, but she was the only Buckeye able to claim victory. Niki Schroeder, Rio Watanabe and Katja Pogacar dropped their matches while Jaclyn Lee's went unfinished, allowing for the Trojans to advance.

The quarterfinals exit is disappointing, but Ohio State truly exceeded expectations at the NCAA Championships. The Buckeyes was ranked just No. 23 in the latest Golfweek rankings before the tournament, but found themselves within the top-8 to advance to match play.
