The mark of a great leader and coach is not only wins and championships but also what kind of talent and character he produces along the way.
For Matta, that means two Final Fours, five B1G regular season titles, four B1G tournament titles, a .733 winning percentage via 337 victories, a host of NBA draft picks and countless stand up guys developed over 13 years in Columbus.
Not that Thad Matta, or fans of Ohio State basketball for that matter, needed any confirmation but last night further illustrated the kind of person Matta is and that his former players still have nothing but love and admiration for their coach.
In a party at the Matta residence to celebrate Thad, he whipped out the rings and no doubt reminisced about the good ole days.
Celebrated Coach Matta's legacy last night with some of my favorite people in the world. @thekidet was also there. pic.twitter.com/0rr4GLuMq8

In related news, the party may have put to bed one of the more explosive and bitter feuds we've seen since the Hatfields and Mccoys:
@clubtrillion has been unblocked, we are trying to move forward amicably. Discussing a 2 year deal with a option to renew after 1 year https://t.co/RBLTs2x9Cl
