Ohio State suspended Kaleb Wesson on Friday for a "violation of Ohio State Athletics Department policy."
The 6-foot-9, 270-pound forward will return this season, Ohio State said in a press release, but the program did not announce a date for his return.
Wesson leads Ohio State with 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
Without Wesson, the Buckeyes' frontcourt depth takes a hit. Kyle Young and Andre Wesson are the only players on the team taller that 6-foot-5 who have played significant minutes recently. Jaedon LeDee has not played more than five minutes in over a month, but he could be forced into more playing time with Wesson out.
Ohio State will take on Purdue at 2 p.m. Saturday without its starting center.
