Carmen's Crew has reached the third round of TBT.
In a back-and-forth duel at UD Arena, former Fairmont State guard Jamel Morris scored 17 points, former Bowling Green forward Scott Thomas scored 11 and Kyle Young scored 10 to lead Ohio State's alumni team to a 71-60 win over Dayton's alumni team, Red Scare.
Carmen's Crew suffered from another slow start. However, as he did in the team's round one win over Purple Hearts, Jared Sullinger helped his squad surge to a 10-0 run late in the opening frame, scoring four points and collecting two assists as former UT Arlington standout Erick Neal buried two attempts from behind the arc. Carmen's Crew ended the quarter with a 19-13 lead.

The second quarter had a similar plot as Red Scare outscored Carmen's Crew 11-4 before a Kaleb Wesson field goal ended their run. From there, the Ohio State alumni team closed out the quarter on a hot streak, with former East Tennessee State star Desonta Bradford, Andre Wesson and Morris making baskets in the final three minutes to keep Carmen's Crew ahead 32-27 at halftime.
Both teams had lids on their respective hoops to start the second half. After five minutes of action, Carmen's Crew led Red Scare 34-32. Then, Carmen's Crew's reserves pushed their foot on the accelerator. Young, Thomas and Morris contributed on both ends of the floor as the Ohio State alumni team caught fire. Carmen's Crew ended the quarter on an 11-0 run, capped off with a 35-foot, banked-in 3-pointer from Thomas as the buzzer sounded.

Red Scare outscored Carmen's Crew 12-9 in the fourth quarter, but the Ohio State alumni team bounced back and secured a 10-7 advantage in the target score-based overtime period to win the contest 71-60. Andre Wesson made the final basket of the game, a 3-pointer from the right wing, which prompted a court storm from the Carmen's Crew bench.

With the win, Carmen's Crew advances to the third round of TBT, where it will face top-seeded Heartfire at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Dayton with FS2 televising. Heartfire, a team loaded with former college and current NBA G League talent, won the 2023 TBT championship last summer.
