After suffering a hip injury on Sept. 29, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) safety Lejond Cavazos announced Thursday evening via Twitter that the injury will keep him sidelined for the remainder of his junior season.
"It's been a great season but I will not be finishing this season due to an injury," Cavazos wrote. "I will be alongside my brothers for the rest of the ride and blessed to be a part of this great team."

Cavazos, a four-star safety and 2020 Ohio State committed, gave his verbal to the Buckeyes on June 27, this past summer. Before suffering his injury, Cavazos told Eleven Warriors he felt like he was having his "best season yet."
Currently, Cavazos is considered to be the nation's ninth-best safety as well as the state of Florida's 30th-best prospect overall. Nationally, he's ranked as the 184th-best prospect.
IMG Academy is currently 4-1, all wins that Cavazos had participated in.
