Ohio State commit Garrett Wilson, a five-star wide receiver from Austin, Texas, has agreed to give Eleven Warriors exclusive access into his senior season with the Cavaliers.
He'll join us every week to assess his own play, as well as his team's, while giving Ohio State fans continuous updates as his senior prep season rolls along.
Wilson's fifth entry comes after Lake Travis' bye week. This Friday will be the first time the Cavaliers have played in two weeks after a 44-14 loss that dropped their record to 6-1.
Let's get this out of the way first: Garrett Wilson isn't concerned about reported "tension" between Ohio State's football program and Urban Meyer, despite several rumors.
"I’m not worried about what people are saying about Urban and the university," Wilson said.
He's probably much wiser than most. After all, as one of the nation's best wide receivers at the high school level, Wilson is used to criticism — and while it may not be at the level his future head coach endures, the two still have a mutual understanding.

Meyer, of course, has been under fire this week after the Buckeyes' 49-20 loss to Purdue in West Lafayette. Wilson was one of the millions of viewers to tune in Saturday evening. But despite a lackluster performance, and that's putting it mildly, Wilson isn't fretting it.
"I expect them to turn it around after the Purdue loss and win out," Wilson said. "The coaches and players want to, and are capable of it."
As for Wilson's Lake Travis Cavaliers, they're fresh off a much-needed bye week. After a 44-14 loss to Westlake on Oct. 12, the break has allowed the team to patch up holes on both sides of the football.
"I feel like we got a lot better during the bye week," Wilson said. "I learned a lot about my teammates and vice versa."
But when his teammates host Del Valle (Del Valle, Texas) this week, and travel to Hays (Buda, Texas) next Friday, Wilson will be rooting from the sidelines. After suffering a back injury earlier this season, Wilson is taking the next few weeks off to work on his health.
"During these weeks before playoffs, I’m looking to get 100% healthy," he said. "I’m missing these next few games to get there. It’s crazy my last season is winding down."
Even without Wilson, who currently sits at 35 receptions, 547 yards and nine touchdowns alongside 233 kick return yards, the Cavaliers' main goal hasn't changed: win and win big.
Del Valle is a 4-4 team with losses to Anderson, Bowie, Akins and Westlake. Lake Travis has already beaten Bowie (42-21) and Akins (51-13) this season. But it's still District 25 football in Texas, where nothing is given and everything is earned.
"Once again this week, it will take playing Lake Travis football, and executing, to win," Wilson said.
