Ohio State is two days away from getting an answer from its top remaining wide receiver target.

Four-star Missouri wideout Jeremiah McClellan will commit at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday and choose from a final five of Ohio State, Missouri, Oregon, Georgia and LSU.

Heading into the commitment, McClellan’s recruitment has likely come down to Ohio State, Missouri and Oregon. The Buckeyes have been viewed as the frontrunner since the spring. While Oregon and Missouri have made this a tight finish, OSU is still considered the leader entering Sunday.

McClellan would give OSU an impressive three-headed monster at wide receiver in the 2024 class, as he’d join five-stars Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham if he commits to the Buckeyes. Regardless of if McClellan commits to Ohio State or not, OSU will continue to also pursue four-star Florida wideout Chance Robinson, a Miami commit.

As a junior, McClellan caught 61 passes for 1,103 yards with 18 total touchdowns (13 receiving). He is also the punt returner and kick returner for Christian Brothers College High School (St. Louis, Missouri), returning 13 punts for 433 yards last season. In his sophomore season, he caught 41 passes for 989 yards with nine touchdowns.

DJ Pickett puts OSU in top 13

The top-ranked safety in the 2025 class has trimmed his recruitment down to 13 schools. Five-star Florida prospect DJ Pickett put out a list of top schools Thursday consisting of Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, LSU, South Carolina, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, Alabama and Miami.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Pickett is considered the eighth-best prospect nationally and the No. 1 safety in the 2025 class.

Pickett, who is related to former Buckeye defensive tackle Ryan Pickett, earned his offer from Ohio State in April 2022 and visited campus later that June. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect is a high-priority target for OSU coaches Perry Eliano and Tim Walton in the 2025 class.

Jordan Seaton to take official visit to Ohio State Oct. 6

After minimal buzz connecting Ohio State and four-star 2024 offensive lineman Jordan Seaton the last few months, the top interior offensive lineman in the cycle has confirmed he'll take an official visit to Ohio State on Oct. 6, one day before the Buckeyes host Maryland, per On3

Seaton will also take official visits to LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon and South Carolina, while taking an unofficial to Alabama in the fall as well. The 6-foot-5, 287-pound offensive lineman isn't expected to make a decision until after his senior season.

While Ohio State is likely still a long shot to land Seaton, the fact he's scheduled an official visit to Columbus certainly gives the Buckeyes a puncher's chance in his recruitment.

Garrett Stover earns All-American Bowl invite

Ohio State linebacker commit Garrett Stover received a national honor on Friday. The Sunbury resident was invited to participate in the 2024 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Stover is one of two linebackers committed to Ohio State’s 2024 class, along with Texas product Payton Pierce. Stover is ranked as the 147th-best player nationally and the 11th-rated linebacker in the 2024 class.

Stover and Big Walnut High School will open their 2023 season next Friday on the road against Bishop Hartley.

West, Smith named preseason All-Americans

Ohio State commits Bryce West and Jeremiah Smith were honored by MaxPreps this week by earning first-team 2024 Preseason All-America selections, the prep website announced. Offensive tackle target Brandon Baker was also a first-team selection.

Two other Ohio State commitments, quarterback Air Noland and cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., picked up second-team All-American honors. Defensive lineman Eddrick Houston and cornerback Kobe Black, two five-stars who Ohio State is still pursuing in the 2024 class, also appeared on the second team.

OSU targets on the 2025 MaxPreps Preseason All-America first team, which honors the nation’s best high school football players entering their junior seasons, include Pickett, quarterback Bryce Underwood, running back Jordon Davison, wide receiver Dakorien Moore, offensive linemen David Sanders Jr.Douglas UtuMicah DeBose and Chauncey Gooden, defensive linemen Nasir Wyatt, Armondo Blount and Elijah Griffin, linebackers Zayden Walker and Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng and cornerbacks Devin SanchezNa’eem Offord and Blake Woodby.

Ohio State's lone class of 2026 commitment is earning accolades as well, as Chris Henry Jr. was selected to the MaxPreps 2026 Preseason All-America first team.
