A warrant was issued for the arrest of former Ohio State running back Bri'onte Dunn Friday afternoon. Dunn is being charged with misdemeanor assault and domestic following an altercation with his girlfriend July 17.
Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch and NBC4 first reported the news.
Ohio State dismissed Dunn from its football team July 18. A fifth-year senior, Dunn was in a battle with redshirt freshman Mike Weber for the starting running back job this fall. Weber is now in line for the starting job.
In the audio from the 911 call following the incident, the alleged victim told a dispatcher Dunn "hit me really bad" before adding he choked her and caused her lip to bleed.
Misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Head coach Urban Meyer said last week Dunn had "no chance" of receiving reinstatement on the football team.
