Joshua Perry helped fight autism in numerous ways while at Ohio State. Now in San Diego as a Chargers linebacker, he's finding new ways to help a good cause.
In a Friday post to Instagram, Perry asked his fans to pledge a donation to Autism Speaks for every sack he records this season.
Hey y'all, I've started a season long PledgeIt campaign to raise money for Autism Awareness! Pledge a dollar amount for every sack the #Chargers get this year and all proceeds will go toward research and spreading awareness! People who pledge over $10 per sack or $300 total will be entered to win a pair of signed, game-worn cleats!
Fans looking to aid the fight can donate by going to pledgeit.org/sacks-for-autism-speaks.
For Perry, it's a personal struggle as well. Doctors diagnosed his brother, Jahred, with Asperberger's Syndrome when he was nine-years old. Perry has stated in the past Jahred serves as a main inspiration in his life.
