Bad news out of Miami on Thursday night as former Ohio State and current Dolphins rookie middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan tore his ACL while covering a punt in the opening minutes of the Falcons–Dolphins preseason game.

To compound matters for Miami, McMillan appeared to collide with fellow Dolphins linebacker Deon Lacey on the play.

The #Dolphins had some more misfortune. 2nd round LB Raekwon McMillan tore his ACL last night, source said. This is after the MRI.

The injury would sideline the second-round pick for the duration of the season.
McMillan signed a four-year, $4.7 million contract back in May. He had only locked down the starting position earlier this week.
McMillan addressed the injury on his Instagram account on Friday.
"Thank You to everyone who has reached out to my family and I with support. For this is a minor setback for an incredible come back," McMillan wrote. "I've worked so hard to prove doubters wrong ever since pre draft training and it sucks that I can't prove them wrong this year. Who would have thought my first time touching the field for my dream job would be my last time this season ? Haha it's all good because I know God gives his greatest test to his strongest soldiers."
