When Oklahoma fifth-year senior quarterback Baker Mayfield reflected earlier this week upon Ohio State's 2016 win in Norman, he said the Buckeyes' O-H-I-O chant and the singing of their alma mater in Memorial Stadium "embarrassed" him.

"They had more reason to be louder," Mayfield said. "But, it's different year. Obviously we're still thinking about that and it hurts. But we've still gotta go play football.”

Mayfield drove that point home Saturday night in the Shoe, where he and the Sooners dumped Ohio State, 31-16, in front of 109,000+ fans.

Greg Schiano and the Ohio State defense had no answer for the Austin, Texas native.

Mayfield completed 27 of 35 passes (16 of 17 in the second half) to nine different receivers for 386 yards and three touchdowns—a jarring juxtaposition against the inept Ohio State passing offense.

Oklahoma finished with 490 total yards of offense.

After the game, an elated Mayfield said he was going to sing "Boomer Sooner!" with the Oklahoma band and remaining Sooner fans.

"I'm going to do it all down there," he said. "Maybe even some [Justin Timberlake]."

So while he will never forget Ohio State embarrassing him on his home field, so will Ohio State fans never forget the image of a quarterback that just eviscerated their team's defense planting an enemy flag at midfield:

To the victors, the spoils.
