Maybe this is the 'Year of the Tight End' after all?
Ohio State fans have long voiced their displeasure in the lack of focus on talented tight ends through the years. Despite Jim Tressel's conservative nature, even he only turned Ben Hartsock into a prominent target in his passing offenses, leaving valued recruits like Rory Nichol and Jake Ballard to spend their time in Columbus acting as extra tackles.
After five more years of the same under the current regime, perhaps it's time to reevaluate that strategy. Rashod Berry's catch-and-run over and through the UNLV defense reigned supreme in last week's Top Play poll, garnering a season-high 57% of the vote. However, he's joined this week by fellow tight end Marcus Baugh, who felt it necessary to show off his athleticism (while also making a case for a spot in the Olympic 110M high hurdles).
As always, though, playmakers like Nick Bosa and Parris Campbell continue their quest to steal the crown. Onto this week's nominees:
1) Nick Bosa's strip-sack sets up the scoop-and-score
2) Marcus Baugh bounds over a tackler en route to the end zone
3) Parris Campbell cuts back across the field on a 24-yard reverse
