With the 52-3 victory over the Scarlet Knights, the Buckeyes became just the second FBS program with 900 or more wins, joining the Michigan Wolverines, who lead all schools with 944 wins.
Ohio State holds an all-time record of 900–324–53, which is good enough for a winning percentage of .725. Michigan and Notre Dame lead all programs with a winning percentage of .729, while Boise State is second at .726.
The Buckeyes actually saw their 900th victory on the field last season and have now seen 912, but the NCAA forced Ohio State to vacate 12 wins from the 2010 season after it was discovered players were selling memorabilia, bringing the total to 900.
Similarly, Notre Dame officially has under 900 wins after it was forced to vacate all 21 wins from its 2012 and 2013 seasons following an academic misconduct scandal that saw football players receive impermissible benefits or conduct academic misconduct, but the Irish have seen 908 on-field victories.
