With Joe Burrow, Chase Young and Jeff Okudah selected with the first three picks in Thursday night's NFL Draft, they became the first three former teammates ever selected with the draft's first three picks.

Young and Okudah were drafted out of Ohio State with the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks. It marked the third time the Buckeyes have had two players selected in the top-five of the NFL Draft, which is the most of any program in draft history.

"Chase Young, we knew from day one he walked on campus, that once he and Larry Johnson got together and he got healthy (he'd be great)," former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer told Columbus' 610 WTVN. "And the same with Jeff Okudah. He walked on campus and it didn't take long. First couple practices we were like 'Whoa...we've got one here.'"

Burrow's path to the draft was decidedly different than his former Buckeye teammates', as he transferred from the program ahead of his redshirt junior season after graduating from Ohio State and receiving his degree. He then won the Heisman Trophy and a national title on his way to becoming the No. 1 overall pick.

"You know Joe Burrow the year he had and obviously LSU did an incredible job and he did an incredible job of being developed and working hard and taking advantage of the situation that became available to him," Meyer said of Burrow on 610 WTVN.

All three players were recruited by Meyer, and the former Buckeye head coach said he'd be watching like a proud father on draft night.

"It's the same feeling you get when something great happens to your kid," Meyer told Columbus' 610 WTVN about seeing his players drafted. "When you see that happen it's like when something great happens to your child."
