Another Buckeye is joining the New Orleans Saints.

Former Ohio State defensive tackle Jerron Cage agreed to an undrafted free agent deal with the Saints following the 2023 NFL draft on Saturday night, according to multiple reports.

Cage joins a Saints roster that already includes five other former Ohio State players: Marshon Lattimore, Chris Olave, Bradley Roby, Michael Thomas and Pete Werner.

Cage participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl in January, then ran a 5.31-second 40-yard dash, recorded a 26-inch vertical and an 8-11 broad jump at OSU's pro day in March.

In his final season at Ohio State, Cage appeared in 12 games with three starts for the Buckeyes. He accumulated 12 total tackles (2.5 for loss) with 1.5 sacks. He eventually became the No. 5 defensive tackle in the rotation after other linemen surged ahead of him on the depth chart.

In his six-year career at OSU, the 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive tackle played in 43 games and made seven starts for the Buckeyes with 32 total tackles (8 for loss), three sacks and one pass deflection.

But of course, Cage's career highlight at Ohio State came in the 2021 season when he scooped up a fumble and ran 57 yards for a touchdown in a win over Penn State.

“I definitely had those moments where I just felt like, ‘Will I ever get this moment?’” Cage said that offseason. “But the D-line saved me. The brotherhood saved me. Because there's just times you can get in your head sometimes, and it don't be healthy sometimes. But if you’ve got the right people around you, you can get through anything.”
