The opening lines for Week 0 and Week 1 of the college football season are here.
Ohio State will have a new quarterback behind center to begin the 2023 season, but that doesn't seem to affect how heavily it will be favored in the season opener. With DraftKings releasing their lines for the beginning of the season, the sportsbook lists the Buckeyes as a massive 28-point favorite over Indiana.
Although these are the first lines that DraftKings has released, FanDuel has given out more betting lines for other Buckeyes' games this upcoming season, including their games at Notre Dame and against Penn State, a November night game against Michigan State and Ohio State's regular-season finale in Ann Arbor.
Of the five spreads FanDuel and DraftKings have already set for the Buckeyes, 28 points is the largest thus far. As it stands, Ohio State is a 10-point favorite over Notre Dame, a 9.5-point favorite over Penn State, a 21.5-point favorite over Michigan State and a one-point underdog to Michigan.

The Buckeyes have beaten the Hoosiers by at least 20 points in six of their last seven matches, including a dominant 56-14 win in Columbus last season and a 54-7 thrashing the last time OSU traveled west to Bloomington in 2021. Ohio State has defeated Indiana in 27 straight matchups, with its last loss to the Hoosiers taking place all the way back in 1988, when the Buckeyes lost back-to-back games to the Hoosiers.
The last time a first-year starting quarterback began the season under center was in 2021, when C.J. Stroud led the Buckeyes to a 45-31 win at Minnesota while completing 13-of-22 passes for 294 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Kyle McCord or Devin Brown will look to do the same Labor Day weekend.
