Emeka Egbuka’s confidence in his team was palpable at Ohio State’s pregame Skull Session before its homecoming game against Maryland.

“The message has been real simple all week: Start fast and dominate,” Egbuka said while addressing the crowd inside St. John Arena. “Maryland thinks that because they’re undefeated, they can come in here and beat the Buckeyes. I know y’all have seen the social media, all the tweets, all the posts. Last time I checked they (were) 0-8 against the Buckeyes. I promise y’all after today they’re going to be 0-9.”

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and offensive line coach Justin Frye also addressed the crowd at Saturday’s Skull Session. Frye challenged the crowd to prove they are “the best damn fans in the land” by cheering loudly inside the Shoe on Saturday, and Day said the Buckeyes want to prove they’re “the best damn team in the land.”

“Every day and every game, you have an opportunity to prove somebody right and prove somebody wrong,” Day said. “Today, we’re looking to prove that we’re the best damn team in the land. And so how do you do that? Toughness, intensity, violence, discipline, hard work. And you’re gonna see that today.”
