Ohio State and Michigan is officially a top-three matchup in each major poll, as the Buckeyes and Wolverines checked in as the second and third-best teams in the CFP rankings on Tuesday.
Back-to-back national champion Georgia is No. 1 after a 38-10 win over then-No. 18 Tennessee, followed by Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, Florida State and the committee's top-ranked, one-loss team, Oregon.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes and Wolverines will meet in their second consecutive top-three matchup and third overall in the past 18 seasons. In 2022, with Ohio State ranked second and Michigan ranked third, the Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes 45-23 in Ohio Stadium. In 2006, with Ohio State ranked first and Michigan ranked second, the Buckeyes defeated the Wolverines 42-39 in the Shoe in what many consider "The Game of the Century."
Ohio State's best victories this season remain its 14-13 win over then-No. 9 Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and its 20-12 win over then-No. 6 Penn State in Columbus.
The Irish remained one of the top teams in America after their loss to Ohio State but plummeted after losses to then-No. 25 Louisville, 33-20, and unranked Clemson, 35-14. Notre Dame was idle following its loss to the Tigers but returned to beat Wake Forest, 45-7, in South Bend. The Irish will wrap up the regular season at Stanford on Saturday.
The Nittany Lions are third in the Big Ten East standings behind Ohio State and Michigan. Penn State is 9-2 this season, with their only losses at the hands of the Buckeyes and Wolverines. James Franklin and company will finish their regular season with a Black Friday matchup against Michigan State at Ford Field.
Notre Dame is No. 18, and Penn State is No. 11 in the most recent release of the College Football Playoff rankings.
