A familiar face is back at Ohio State helping coach the Buckeyes during winter workouts.
Former Ohio State linebacker Anthony Schlegel, who was previously an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Buckeyes from 2011-15, has returned to the strength and conditioning staff on an interim basis.
An Ohio State spokesperson told Eleven Warriors that Schlegel is temporarily replacing a strength and conditioning coach who is currently away from the team due to a surgery.
Schlegel’s voice could be heard in a video Ohio State posted Thursday featuring footage from the Buckeyes’ winter workouts.

Schlegel, who played for the Buckeyes from 2003-05, runs The Difference USA, a football equipment company he started after earning his MBA from Ohio State in 2015. During his previous tenure working with the Buckeyes, Schlegel invented The Difference Striking Machine, a portable hand placement/striking machine that he now sells to football teams all over the country.
Schlegel also worked as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head strength and conditioning coach in 2021 during Urban Meyer’s lone season as the Jaguars’ head coach.
