Ohio State beating in-state opponents by a billion points is something that has happened with startling regularity for the past 100 years, so it says something about the hype around this specific Buckeye team that a 52-6 win is deemed (by some) to be at least a mild disappointment.

If you're suffering from that particular malaise this morning, please take a look at how Ohio State's chief rivals in the Big Ten fared this weekend. Oregon, needing some late game magic to pull away from Idaho (???) at home. Michigan, lucky to get a last minute pick six to avoid sweating it out against Fresno State thanks to a terrible offensive performance. Penn State, who... actually looked pretty good. Ignore that.

Anyway, the point is that Ohio State looked like the best team in the ever-expanding Big Ten on Saturday. Did they look like an NFL expansion candidate? No. But it's the first game. So not yet.

And that's it for this week! Next week Western Michigan continues their tour of the Big Ten and rolls into Columbus, so expect more gushing over Jeremiah Smith in just seven days. See you then!
