The Buckeyes are hot and Las Vegas continues to take notice.
With all the momentum Ohio State has carried in its first two games of this season's College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes are six-point favorites over Texas ahead of next Friday's CFP semifinals, according to consensus lines from The Action Network.
After opening as a 4.5-point favorite, that number quickly climbed to six points on DraftKings and 5.5 points at FanDuel within minutes, as plenty of money came in on the Buckeyes after OSU dominated Oregon in the Rose Bowl, 41-21, a game Ohio State was favored over previously undefeated and the No. 1-ranked Ducks by 2.5 points going into Wednesday night's matchup in Pasadena.
Ohio State is 12-2 overall and 8-6 against spread, including a perfect 2-0 record ATS in the postseason.
Texas, meanwhile, is 13-2 after beating Clemson and Arizona State in the first two rounds of the CFP but just 8-6-1 against the spread this season, including 1-1 ATS in the CFP.
The Cotton Bowl will be the fourth all-time meeting between Ohio State and Texas, with each of three previous meetings occurring between 2005-09. The Longhorns hold a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series including a 24-21 victory in the most recent matchup between the Buckeyes and Texas in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl.
Ohio State and Texas will matchup next Friday night, with kickoff at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The CFP semifinal will be televised on ESPN.
