Jonah Jackson is on the move for the second offseason in a row.
After one year with the Los Angeles Rams, the former Ohio State offensive lineman is headed to the Chicago Bears following a trade between the two teams on Tuesday. The Bears sent a sixth-round pick in this year’s NFL draft to Los Angeles in exchange for Jackson.

Jackson signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams last offseason as one of the top offensive linemen on the free-agent market following four years with the Detroit Lions, but his season with the Rams didn’t go as planned. Los Angeles moved Jackson to center from left guard, the position he played at Ohio State and with the Lions, but he ended up starting just four games as he missed time with a shoulder injury and was ultimately benched in favor of rookie center Beaux Limmer.
Per 670 The Score's Chris Emma, the Bears are giving the Rams the sixth-round draft pick they received from trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers last offseason, so one amusing way to look at it is one Buckeye was indirectly traded for another.
Jackson will likely move back to guard in Chicago, where he’ll be reunited with former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, the new head coach of the Bears.
The Bears are taking on Jonah Jackson's contract as ishe's due a fully-guaranteed $8.5 roster bonus for '25, and $9 million in base salary. His $17 million for next year is not guaranteed. The Rams paid $16.5 million for the single season.
