After Carmen: Julian Sayin Makes a Move in Ohio State’s Quarterback Competition

Julian Sayin played like Ohio State’s best quarterback on Saturday.

After a few disappointing showings in practices open to the media, Sayin showcased confidence and command from his first series of the Buckeyes' spring game and now feels like the frontrunner to win the job, going 17-of-24 for 158 yards and a touchdown.

It's clear that he'll have the same caliber of weapons to distribute the ball to that Ohio State had in 2024 as well. Wide receiver Mylan Graham put on a showcase despite being fourth on the Buckeyes' depth chart, collecting four receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. Bo Jackson shined at running back while Max Klare and Nate Roberts stood out in OSU's loaded tight end room.

Ohio State's offensive line also played well, but by the same token, the spring game highlighted the Buckeyes' depth deficiencies at defensive tackle, something they'll likely need to address in the transfer portal. Several defenders stood out, however, including defensive end Logan George, linebacker Payton Pierce and nickel Lorenzo Styles Jr.

Eleven Warriors' Andy Anders and Dan Hope break down an informative spring game on a new episode of After Carmen, which you can watch at the top of the page.
