Ohio State is headed to Washington.
On Monday, Ryan Day confirmed a CBS report that the national champion Ohio State football team will visit the White House next month.
"Yeah, it's an honor to be invited. We were formally invited," Day said. "I remember growing up and watching the national championship teams go to the White House. I always looked at that, like, 'Man, what an honor that would be.' So, it's part of the celebration of our team. ... Looking forward to getting that all planned out."
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, an Ohio State graduate, will honor the Buckeyes on April 14.
Ohio State completed arguably the most historic championship run in college football history last season by defeating Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame over a month-long span to claim their first national title since 2014.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl, will also be honored at the White House on April 28.
