The seventeen draft-eligible Buckeyes at pro day won't be the only ones working out on Wednesday.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said Monday that wide receivers Carnell Tate and Brandon Inniss will join wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, tight end Gee Scott Jr. and running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins in catching passes from quarterback Will Howard.

While Day said the full list of pro day participants is still being finalized, Tate and Inniss will likely be the only current players who participate on Wednesday since Ohio State already has representatives at just about every position group from its class of 17 draft prospects.

Tate and Inniss join the likes of former Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (2023) and quarterback C.J. Stroud (2022) as underclassmen to participate in the Buckeyes’ pro day. Egbuka and defensive linemen Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau also participated in drills in the 2024 pro day after choosing to return for their senior seasons at Ohio State.

Both Harrison and Stroud shined in their pro day opportunities, impressing executives and scouts with their execution in passing drills. Regarding the former, ESPN’s Jordan Reid said a scout told him watching Harrison was “like window shopping at a Lamborghini dealership for the model that doesn’t come out until next year.”

While Jeremiah Smith led Ohio State with 76 catches for 1,315 yards (17.3 yards per catch) and 15 touchdowns last season, Tate and Inniss were also vital parts of Brian Hartline's receiver room. As the Buckeyes' third receiver behind Smith and Egbuka, Tate recorded 52 receptions for 733 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Inniss had 14 receptions for 176 yards and one touchdown as the first receiver off the bench.
