The first wave of injuries of the 2016 season hit Ohio State this week.
Urban Meyer, speaking at a press conference before the school's annual media day, announced redshirt sophomore defensive end Darius Slade will miss the 2016 season after suffering an Achilles injury.
Slade, a last-minute four-star 2014 signee from New Jersey, was expected to backup Sam Hubbard in 2016.
In other injury news, Meyer also announced JUCO transfer offensive lineman Malcolm Pridgeon will miss three months due to a knee injury.
