There's actual football to talk about!

Film Study

As we experimented with back in the winter, we're trying some different things here at Film Study, and today marks my first YouTube review of the 2024 season. In this video, you won't see everything the Buckeyes did well (or poorly) against the Akron Zips last Saturday, just some of what I found most interesting.

Yes, the offense looked shaky on some of those early drives, but just as Jeremiah Smith rebounded from an early drop (which might've been a touchdown), the entire unit improved as the game wore on.

You may be wondering, 'Where's the defensive breakdown?' To that point, you'll have to thank Joe Moorhead and his 2-QB system, which was...unique. Given those wrinkles, there wasn't much to take away from Jim Knowles' play-calling, other than the first-team D-line looking unblockable for large stretches of the game and Lathan Ransom possibly being the most slept-on player on the roster.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll talk plenty about the Silver Bullets as the season wears on, but I hope you enjoy my review of the OSU offense in Week One.
