For the second consecutive week Big Ten Hockey's Stars of the Week include a Buckeye. This time around it's double the recognition for Ohio State. Matt Weis is the conference's First Star and Tommy Parran is its Third Star.

Weis posted six points in the Bucks' series sweep of Niagara. He scored a goal and contributed three assists in a career best four point output during Friday's shellacking. On Saturday the junior forward netted another goal and assist. He now owns ten points on the season and is tied for second on both the Buckeye and Big Ten scoring charts.
Parran, a second year defenseman, also recorded career highs in the Niagara series. He scored twice in the series opener and added an assist. The pair of goals and three points in a game were both personal bests for the native Ohioan. He chipped in two assists in the series finale to set another career mark, five total points in a series.
These are the first weekly honors for both Weis and Parran. They and the Buckeyes are back in action this weekend. Ohio State hosts Robert Morris on Friday and Saturday. Friday's tilt features the always popular performance of Script Ohio on ice.
Buckeyes Keep Climbing the Polls
By staying unbeaten Ohio State moved up to No. 11 in both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey polls. The Buckeyes are now the highest ranking Big Ten team topping No. 13 Minnesota, No. 14/15 Penn State, and No. 17 Michigan. Wisconsin is also receiving votes.
