The big news yesterday was the commitment of four-star OT prospect Michael Jordan to Ohio State.

Unfortunately not the Michael Jordan most known for his role in Space Jam, but OSU's Michael Jordan hails from Plymouth, Michigan, and is one of the state's elite prospects. (The Lord of Whispers broke down the impact of the big fella's commitment over here. Your MGOBlog meltdown is this way.)

This week's NSFW ANTI-WORK #BANGERS #BLINDERS:

LAX READY TO RIDE ON ENEMIES. Ohio State's men's lacrosse team plays Duke on Saturday at 7:30, and OSU's All-Big Ten selection, Carter Brown, is ready to ride:

"ALL I THINK IS 'NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.'" Not that it's breaking news, but here's 2017 four-star DT prospect, Frank Hansard showing us to how blue-chip prospects view Ohio State.

From Ari Wasserman of Cleveland.com:

When Ohio State offered this week, though, it wasn't just another scholarship to add to the pile. The offer means much more than that. It was the confirmation the 6-foot-4, 310-pound prospect is among the best in high school football.

"I feel like now that Ohio State offered that I'm one of the top recruits," Hansard said. "After this offer, I am so happy. Ohio State, all I think is national champions. Just to think they offered me this early, it's pretty exciting."

This is what Michigan Men forgot when they hailed the coming of Harbaugh: Urban Meyer had been at work for three years.

NEW FINANCIAL CHIEF AT OSU ATHLETICS. It's mind-boggling to think of all the worker bees behind the scenes at Ohio State Athletics.

From Tony Gerdeman of theOzone.net:

COLUMBUS — Joe Odoguardi has been hired by the Ohio State Department of Athletics as its chief financial officer, Miechelle Willis, Ohio State's deputy director of athletics, announced Thursday.

Odoguardi has served as the Ohio State senior associate general manager and chief financial officer for the Division of Business Advancement since June of 1998. He will continue in that role in addition to his new duties with athletics. He will have a dual reporting line to Willis and Xen Riggs, Ohio State's associate vice president for business advancement.

Gene Smith, Ohio State vice president and director of athletics, oversees the Ohio State Division of Business Advancement.

SOFTBALL: STILL SLUGGIN. Does this mean a steroid scandal is coming to softball?

From Shawn Mitchell of DIspatch.com:

“Anyone will tell you that the game has changed this year and the numbers prove it,” said [softball coach Kelly Kovach] Schoenly, whose team will play host to the Big Ten tournament beginning today at Buckeye Field.

Schoenly’s team has followed form, setting an Ohio State record by hitting 70 home runs this season.

Four Buckeyes hit 10 or more, the first time in program history more than three have done so.

It's one thing to read about a death machine, but it's another to watch it reap. Here's Ohio State nuking hapless Indiana in a single inning yesterday during the opening round of the B1G Tournament:

Just shut it down, Indiana.
