A svelte Cardale Jones frolicking down the field (with a smile on his face) against Minnesota could be one of the last on-the-field images we'll see of the Iron King's time in the Scarlet and Gray.
There were flashes of what Urban Meyer intended when he gave the keys to Dolodale to begin the season, but judging from his postgame comments even Cardale knew he wasn't good enough to supplant J.T. Barrett.
In the meantime, Urban Meyer is 47-3 at Ohio State, which is Happy Jamarco.
MINNESOTA ICYMI:

- OSU is No. 1 in Coaches Poll, No. 2 in AP Top 25.
IN MY DAY A SUSPENSION MEANT A SUSPENSION. J.T. Barrett was suspended against Minnesota, but he was allowed to sit in the coaches' box during the game. He didn't get to deliver his usual pregame sermon but was allowed to speak to the team at halftime.
From ESPN.com:
"I was thinking that it was kind of weird [not to hear him before the game], but he gave one before the second half, though," running back Ezekiel Elliott said.
"Cardale [Jones] did a good job picking up where J.T. left off, getting us motivated before we stepped out on the field.
"[Barrett was] just kind of like, 'They're playing the way that we practiced against, and we've just got to go out there and execute and make plays.' And anytime one of my guys gets up there and speaks from the heart, it gets me going."
Other fans are naturally throwing a fit over this — "OSU is scum" one angry man typed into the internet — I wouldn't go that far, but I do concede it was a bad look.
I'm not a fire and brimstone kinda guy unless the Browns are losing by more than 21, but a suspension should be just that.
Sure, sitting him for the game is the meat and potatoes of the punishment, but IF I WERE THE SHERIFF IN THIS TOWN I would've told Barrett to catch this one from home, or even the WHAC. (Yes, I probably would then shoot myself in the leg with my own revolver, but that's not pertinent.) It's bad optics otherwise.
NEVER READ THE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR. I'm unable to tell if The Columbus Dispatch was bombarded with bad #takes or it just cherrypicked the bad ones in a bizarre effort to paint its readers as lunatics, but yeeeeesh:
A lot of blaming of everybody but the drunk driver in Dispatch letters to editor today pic.twitter.com/NEx55ANnVT

The guy in the bottom left sounds like a guy with multiple "bullshit" DUIs.
And I always get a kick out of people who concern troll about armed rapists and murderers going free when cops arrest/cite somebody for something other than rape or murder. ("Speeding, officer!? YOU JUST LET A MAN GET MURDERED AND THE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS.")
My friends, who are 100 percent real, know when I'm the one cautioning restraint it's to be heeded. These people needed me in their life.
"Listen, I am devout in my bad taste. This letter is bad... AND YOU'RE GOING TO SIGN YOUR NAME TO IT? Please, Todd C. Mayonnaise from Grove City, crumple this paper and go outside and pretend to like your feral grandkids. You haven't been outside in three weeks and your house reeks of rotting ass and Chinese takeout."
D'ANGELO RUSSELL HOSTAGE SITCH: STILL CAPTIVE. Let's check in with D'Angelo Russell's hostage situation (he's in the bottom right of this Vine):
Well, it only took six games for Kobe Bryant to break D'Angelo Russell.
The No. 2 overall pick posted six points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in 28 minutes of action. The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New York Knicks, 99-95, on Sunday, dropping them to 1-5 overall.
Just remember, Silk: At least you're making millions of dollars to play on this bad team.
BIG NIGHT FOR COLUMBUS SOCCER. The Columbus Crew dropped the fossilized Didier Drogba and the Montreal Impact 4-3 on aggregate on Sunday night to move to the MLS' Eastern Conference Finals, where they'll face the New York Red Bulls. (That two-leg series starts on Nov. 22 in Columbus.)
The series was won in extra time with this Kei Kamara header, his second goal of the day:

Not to be outdone, the Ohio State men's soccer team beat Penn State 1-0 on midfielder Kyle Culbertson's overtime goal to advance to the Big Ten semifinals:
