Have a good Thursday.
MOMMA, I MADE IT! When I was a kid, I dreamed of being of being on ESPN for throwing a game-winning touchdown, draining a buzzer-beater or hitting a walk-off home run to help Ohio State win a national championship.
Obviously, that Ohio State stuff didn't happen.
But the "being on ESPN' part did!
Look, momma, I made it!
JUST ICONS LIVIN'. Siri, play Jaden Smith's ICON, then run it back.

That's two icons!
THE BROTHERHOOD IS REAL. Marvin Harrison Jr. was one of several former Buckeyes who were at Ohio State's pro day on Wednesday. Miyan Williams participated in pro day one year after he missed the event with a knee injury, while Xavier Johnson, Matt Jones and Master Teague watched from the sidelines.

Beyond those four former Buckeyes, Brian Hartline, James Laurinaitis, Devin Jordan and Tim Walton were at pro day, but they're coaches, so... yeah. Bobby Carpenter and Kamryn Babb also roamed the indoor field, but Carpenter is at the Woody multiple times a week and Babb works for the Ohio State athletic department, so... yeah.
Oh, and Mike Vrabel was there, too!
All things considered, there were a dozen former Buckeyes at pro day.
How great is The Brotherhood?!
GREAT VALUE CITY ARENA? Ohio State women’s basketball star Cotie McMahon entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, which led to an interesting question in the Eleven Warriors comment section: Have the Buckeyes reached their ceiling under Kevin McGuff?
One commenter said yes, writing, “I think Kevin McGuff has worn out his welcome here.” Others held the same opinion:
- “He’s probably reached his ceiling at Ohio State.”
- “McGuff needs to go and (the person who replaces him) needs to recruit and coach to their players’ strengths.”
- “It’s a bad trend for McGuff, constantly losing his best player to the transfer portal. First, Dorka (Juhasz), now Cotie.”
Look, back-to-back losses in the second round of the NCAA Tournament – at home! – is a bad, bad beat. Three years ago, McGuff led Ohio State to its first Elite Eight since Nancy Darsh, Katie Smith and Co. finished as NCAA runner-ups in 1993, losing to Texas Tech 84-82 in the national championship game. So, it has been disappointing to see the Buckeyes fail to reach or move past the Elite Eight in the past two tournaments.
It’s possible Ohio State’s recent postseason losses are a sign McGuff has reached his ceiling or peak with the Buckeyes, but I don’t think firing him is the best solution. If he’s open to a mutual exit, great. If not, he has one year left on his contract to prove whether or not he deserves another one.
Should McGuff fail, he can fall back on the crapload of cash he’s made in Columbus (his current salary is $1.05 million per year), and Ohio State can search for its next leader. Good news: It won’t have to search too long because McGuff’s replacement sits next to him on the bench in Smith, the Ohio State women’s basketball legend with over a decade of assistant coaching experience in the WNBA.
(35TH) TITLE TIME. The Ohio State University artistic swimming team (formerly synchronized swimming) will travel to Eastern Michigan’s Michael H. Jones Natatorium Thursday for the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Championships this weekend.
Ohio State has won two of the past three national championships and has 34 overall. In addition to team titles, the Buckeyes have won 18 solo, 28 duet, 28 trio and 33 team routine titles since the collegiate national championships began in 1977.
I have word from a trusted source that Ohio State likes its chances to win the solo, duet and trio titles this season; however, schools like Stanford, Incarnate Word, Texas, UCLA, Arizona, Minnesota and more will be fierce competitors in the team routine, which should make for an entertaining Saturday afternoon.
Here is the complete meet schedule for the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Championships:
Friday, March 28
- 9:30 to 11 a.m. - C & D Technical Competition
- 11:15 to noon - B Technical Competition
- 12:15 to 1 p.m. - A Technical Competition
- 2 to 3:15 p.m. - Solo Competition
- 4 to 5 p.m. - Duet Competition
Saturday, March 29
- 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. - Trio Competition
- 12:30 to 2 p.m. - Team Competition
- 2:45 p.m. - Awards
U.S. Collegiate will stream the meet on USAArtisticSwim.com.
I wish my trusted source luck this weekend!
COLUMBUS HAS NICE THINGS! Columbus’ Huntington Park is one of the top 10 best minor league ballparks in the United States, according to the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Home of the Columbus Clippers since 2009, Huntington Park ranked No. 8 behind Modern Woodmen Park (Davenport, Iowa), Polar Park (Worcester, Massachusetts), Sahlen Field (Buffalo), Toyota Field (Madison, Alabama), Jackie Robinson Ballpark (Daytona Beach, Florida), Keesler Federal Park (Biloxi, Mississippi) and Victory Field (Indianapolis). It also ranked ahead of Truist Field (Charlotte) and Southwest University Park (El Paso, Texas), which rounded out the top 10.
In addition to Clippers games, Huntington Park has hosted several other events over the past 15 summers, including the Cardale Jones Charity Softball Game, Savannah Bananas games and more.
Cheers to Huntington Park – and cheers to Dime-a-Dog Nights, which I can’t wait to attend on a random Tuesday in July.
RIP THE SPRING SALE! The buzzer has sounded! The Eleven Warriors Dry Goods Spring Sale ended on Wednesday. However, there are still tees, hoodies, hats and more on sale at the Dry Goods Store because there's always time to look good, save money, and talk trash like a true Buckeye.
