Ohio Stadium bears at least a passing resemblance to the great coliseums of antiquity,; maybe not precisely the Colosseum, but the purpose of the two arenas bears more than a trifling connection: entertaining the masses!
This week The Dubcast ponders what the Romans called panem et circenses, or "bread and circuses," if you skipped Latin 101. The bread in this case being the six-figure NIL deal recently brokered for four Buckeye starters by a local collective, and the circuses being Ohio State's slate of theme games, recently announced.
More specifically, if scarlet nights and blackouts and alumni bands are enough to keep The Horseshoe filled to the brim for the likes of Toledo and Arkansas State. Johnny will once again make the case that Ohio State should push it's ode to classical architecture into the Olentangy and build something far more modern if it wants to get people off the couch and back in the stands.
