Welcome to Campus Connection, the only place where you'll see coverage of the Ohio State pottery club or chess team throughout the interwebs.

With students heading back to school on Sunday, the dining halls will reopen after a three-week hiatus. One of those is Scott, which was spotlighted last week. This week, we will look at the second-largest of Ohio State's dining halls, Kennedy Commons.

Kennedy is about half the size of Scott, and thus features about half of the amenities. Those include:

  • Grilled cheese station
  • Grill station (chicken, vegetables, chef's choice)
  • Ice cream bar
  • Salad bar w/fruit
  • Cereal station
  • Coca-Cola freestyle machines

Like at Scott, students can use their swipes in order to dine-in or get carry out boxes. Unlike Scott, however, Kennedy also includes the 12th Avenue Bread Company. This is another dining hall where students can use the visit exchange or dining dollars in order to get deli sandwiches, pastries, and beverages, much like Starbucks.

Kennedy has recently been remodeled. It is now sandwiched (no pun intended) between Canfield and Bradley Halls, right in the middle of south campus. It was once called Kennedy Hall, but is now called Traditions at Kennedy, fitting in with the other two Traditions locations, Scott and Morrill.

Many students view Kennedy as the second-best dining hall on campus, behind Scott and ahead of Morrill. This fits, as the size and selection of Kennedy also rank second among the three dining halls. Kennedy is unique, however, in that it is the only one of the three dining halls to not include a dormitory as well.
