The Florida Gators, behind a 38-28 victory over Arkansas in the SEC Championship game, have jumped the Michigan Wolverines to move into the coveted 2nd spot in the BCS Rankings.
Fans in teams of other conferences like to point out that the Big11Ten gets "lucky" by not having a conference championship game. This year, it appears the Big11Ten was penalized by not having a conference championship game as the Wolverines were out-of-sight/out-of-mind to the voters who hadn't witnessed a Michigan victory in three weeks. The complaining is surely to heat up over the next couple of days from some of our Wolverine blogging friends and they're right to be so angry. The Buckeyes are in the driver's seat this season, but that's no reason to believe the lunacy that is the BCS won't impact us next year or a year or two down the road.
Saying that, the matchup with Florida will be a good one. Urban Meyer has all kinds of Ohio connections (born in Ashtabula, first head coaching position was at Bowling Green, etc.) and this game will be a really good measuring stick in terms of conference claims of superiority.
