Former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel was in Youngstown Saturday to participate in Maurice Clarett's charity basketball event, The Comeback Project, thrilling fans with his ball-handling skills (and incredible white high tops).
Joining Tressel and Clarett on the court were Boom Herron, Prescott Burgess, Mario Manningham, Trent Richardson, Matt Overton and other current or former football players with ties to the region.
Clarett introduced Tressel to the crowd as "the President of Youngstown," drawing the largest ovation during pregame and the Vest, serving as a player/coach, chose to start himself alongside Clarett, Richardson, Herron and Burgess.
While Tressel's court game appeared rusty, he did help lead his team to the win:
Jim Tressel finishes 0 of 2 from the field, 0 of 1 from 3, two rebounds and two turnovers. Picks up W as player/coach, 73-50.
