Kirk Herbstreit reported in 2007 that Les Miles agreed to leave Louisiana State to take over Michigan, his alma mater, after the departure of Lloyd Carr.
That obviously never happened.
But former LSU athletic director Skip Bertman told 104.5 ESPN, a radio station out of Jackson, Louisiana, that Michigan made another run at Miles in 2011. He turned it down.
Skip Bertman revealing a lot from behind the scenes. Michigan did offer Les Miles the job + more money in 2011. "I swear to God it's true."
