It's with a heavy heart I report the #brands are at it again. This time they're inflicting Taylor Swift, your typically abominable pop-country star, upon us at halftime of the CFP championship game.
Why are they doing this to us? Because, as I said, #brands.
From etonline.com:
According to the source, Swift can't perform at the Super Bowl halftime because she has an endorsement deal with Coke, and the Super Bowl is sponsored by Pepsi.
"Taylor's sponsors (UPS and AT&T) are two of the biggest NCAA Football advertisers on ESPN," the source notes.
Well, now I know what I won't be watching at halftime of the CFP championship, not that they were after the eyeballs of a dilapidated 30-year-old blogger in the first place.
CFP commissioner Bill Hancock clarified later in the day that Swift won't perform in the stadium, which I don't know if that makes better or worse:
.@cfbplayoffs Hancock: Halftime concert not at stadium but at Centennial Olympic Park. Teams marching bands to perform at stadium. (2/3)
