Mewhort had been the starting guard for the team for his first four seasons, though they have progressively been marred larger and larger by injury.
After starting 14 games his first season and every game during his second year in 2015, Mewhort suffered a knee injury 10 games into the 2016 season and was placed on injured reserve.
After starting all five games at left guard for the Colts this season, this marks the second season in a row that will end on injured reserve for the former Ohio State All-American lineman.
Now, apparently, the latest season-ending injury has Mewhort mulling retirement, according to Tony Donohue of 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis.
Was told last night about Mewhort going to IR. Was told he's considering retiring. #Colts
