Nick Saban is adding another former NFL coach to his staff.
Saban is hiring Doug Marrone as Alabama’s offensive line coach, a source told AL.com.
Marrone was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach the last four seasons. He has also been a head coach with the Buffalo Bills (2013-14) and at Syracuse (2009-12).
The 56-year old Marrone has a longstanding relationship with new Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. The two worked together at Georgia Tech from 1995 to 1999.
Marrone will be the replacement for Kyle Flood, who left his post as Alabama’s offensive line coach to take the offensive coordinator job at Texas. It will represent a return to the SEC for Marrone, who was the offensive line coach at Georgia in 2000 and at Tennessee in 2001.
