I know that microbreweries and IPA's have been the rage for many years. On top of that, we find sours and farmhouse ales to be at the forefront of discussion of great beers. I am an old school fan of great pilsner and helles lagers of Germany and the Czech republik. These breweries tend to be old and at least fairly large. There is nothing like drinking an unpasteurized and unfiltered Urquell out of a wooden Fass in the lager tunnels in Pilzn. Currently at home I have Jever on tap and at 44 IBU's a bit hoppier than a typical german pils but hoppier in the sense of noble German hops as opposed to hoppy in terms of NW grapefruit hops. Anyone else share my love of a good bier from an old, large brewery in central Europe. Wenn ja, sage ich danke. Wenn nein, warum nicht?
